Last time when I had seen this entry gate, I had no time to get in. But today, after my visit at NUS Law Faculty, I used the University's entry path to get into the park. It was a very nice day over here in Singapore, sun was shining with only small white clouds in the sky...
So I did not use the upper south main entry, instead I did enter the park in the north, close to eco lake. On the upper picture you see a Garden Officer's vehicle...
I passed the eco lake quite fast and went through some small nice paths.
After some minutes of walking this middle sized lake appeared, but the water was somewhat green. Nevertheless some fish were active and hunting for flies...
Nearby the lake I was suddenly confronted with this saurian, quite large, about 30cm, sitting on the pathway. But after some seconds he agreed to let me pass and disappeared towards the water...
This silver palm was shining in the sunlight, what a nice tree!

Then I came across the entry to the Orchid Garden. They accepted my international student card and I went in for SGD 1 only... Thousands of Orchids were in this area, all colors could be found. So please accept my apologies, if there are too many pictures, but the scene was just too impressive...
There is a special Bromeliad area.
Some Singapore Squirrels were using the pathways as tag-play-circuit. They didn't care about me or other visitors, just running around us and jumping from tree to tree...
The squirrel path leads to the Cold House, a special house inside the Orchid Garden which gets cooled down to something about 20-25 degrees. Inside you can see a nice scenery with plants which need a cooler environment. The house has even a waterfall inside.
Back outside there is a special Orchid House in the Orchid Garden...
The scenery reminds very often to some jungle movie...
On the second last picture you can see a thirty years old Mahogany tree. Think about the beauty of the tree before you buy some furniture next time...
